Background:
I started working with glass in 2005 after a two week intense glass fusing workshop. My focus has been on Functional
glass works that can also be displayed as Art adding beauty and harmony to everyday life. Kilnformed glass starts with
sheets of glass which are cut, combined and layered then fused together in a kiln at temperatures that are 1500-1700
degrees. The glass is then annealed for strength and cooled. Each piece is then coldworked, polished and returned to
the kiln to be slumped into a mold to give the piece its shape and final element of intrigue. My journey in glass had
included classes with recognized Kilnformed glass artists as well as personal experimentation and study.
