Background:
I was born and raised in the San Luis Valley, seven miles west of Antonito in Las Mesitas. I have always been interested
in the history and culture of the San Luis Valley, especially the deep rooted religious cultures. I graduated from
Adams State College with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and have devoted most of my career working with
'At Risk' juveniles, in the school system, the legal system and the mental health system. I began making my crosses 2
years ago as a form of recreation, quickly learning of their popularity. I got my inspiration and passion for jewelry
making from my father, who made and sold jewelry for many years.
